Ana Gonzalez was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. She is a mom of two teenagers and an active community advocate, organizer, educator, and activist in the Inland Valley region. She has lived in the City of Rialto for 27 years.
Ana is currently the Executive Director for the Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice (CCAEJ), a 45-year-old organization fighting for clean air and water in environmental justice communities. Immediate past president of the Chicano Latino Caucus of San Bernardino County, a non-partisan organization where she served from 2017 – 2023. Past-President of Alianza Latina for Rialto Unified School District, a support group for parents and education advocacy for K-12 students. She also serves as a South Coast Air Quality Management District Environmental Justice Advisory Group member and CTC Interagency Equity Advisory Committee member.
Ana has served on the Rialto Budget Advisory Committee, which oversees and provides recommendations about the city’s budget and allocations to the City Council and staff. Currently, Ana serves on the Rialto General Plan Community Advisory Committee, where general plan updates are being developed for final city council approval. These updates will help improve the quality of life of Rialto residents and beyond.
Ana earned her Associate Degrees from San Bernardino Valley College in Liberal Studies, emphasizing Social and Behavioral Science and Humanities. Most recently, she graduated from Cal State San Bernardino with a BA in liberal studies, an emphasis in K-8 education, and a Minor in Sociology. Ana has a background in business and nonprofit management, family engagement, education leadership and empowerment, accounting, and social justice advocacy and activism.
In addition, Ana has received significant recognition from Assembly Majority Leader Eloise Reyes, District 47, as a 30 under 30 leader for her service and advocacy in the district and the Woman of Distinction Award from the Chicano Latino Caucus of San Bernardino County and LULAC in 2017. Recently received the 2022 Woman of the Year-Civic Engagement award from the Art and Science Cultural Center and the 2023 Who’s Who Award for Community Service Champion from the Rialto Democratic Club.
